I finally got my studio space set up! It’s small, but we can have some real fun in there. I coerced Connor and her cousin Sara from Oklahoma to come over and play dress up. I am ecstatic with what we got!
For January only, I will be discounting my basic session if you’d like to come rock it out in the studio. Eventually, the studio will be the starting place for some sessions, like senior shoots. It’s a great place to get some warm, fun shots of the little people that you don’t want to take out in this cold winter. Though as I type this, it’s 60 degrees!
I won’t be offering family portraits in the studio due to space issues and the fact that my family shoots are a completely different process, being more lifestyle photography: ie, catching you naturally in an outside environment.
But definitely contact me soon if you want in on the January discount. After that, the studio will be the same as my basic session fee. gremlinwrangler@gmail.com
Bring your dress up clothes, bring your cute babies, bring your crazy ideas and bring on the fun!
Because I love the beetles out of Rita, I knew I’d love her family by default. I met Rita a couple years ago at work and she has since become one of those special people I just want to be around as much as possible. She has this way of making you feel so awesome about yourself. It’s because of that reason that I agreed to capture some memories for her family on Christmas Eve. It was the least I could do for the friendship she’s shared with me.
I went into this knowing the whole family was on board, which is great when so many people are involved. Everyone showed up looking great and happy and ready to rock out the session; despite the dark skies and muddy conditions. It had snowed a little that morning and I had really hoped for a nice white canvas to work with, but it wasn’t meant to be. We made the best of it and part of me just wanted to stay for the fun family celebration that was to take place after I left.
Here’s a peek at this great family and their super cute dogs!
When I showed up at my aunt’s house before this session, it was chaotic. Just like my house. But I was excited because not only were we shooting at a cool location (Union Station), but all the girls were dressed to the nines in super cool outfits. Did you know that putting a little thought into your outfits for photos can make them amazing? And when you had cute hats, scarves, ect? Wow. Just wow.
We didn’t spend tons of time shooting, because these girls nailed it. They looked good and they knew it. We just went out and worked it. And had a great time.
Here’s a peek at their session.
Thanks for the fun time ladies! (and Mark for driving us safely! Even when we did our quick getaway in downtown KC! ;P )
It feels like I’ve known the Huston’s forever. We started going to church with them almost 13 years ago and then life happened, we moved and the littles that I used to know grew up and one of them got married and had a baby! Thanks to Facebook, I’ve sort of kept in touch with the girls and then their grandma joined our current church family. It’s funny how these things happen; connecting with people you didn’t know if you’d see again. Thanks to Grandma Kris for the fabulous Christmas gift of a photo session. It’s the best kind of gift! This family has a great energy and so much love for each other. Really, super awesome people.
Of course if it seems little Kaya is in every picture, I would challenge you to be around such cuteness and not do the same thing. I don’t think anyone else there would blame me. They’re all as smitten as I was.
Here’s a little peek at these gorgeous people. We captured lots of good stuff, so it was tough choosing for the preview!
Thanks so much Kris for asking me to do this! I got a couple good ones with you too. Just hang tight.
I decided it was time to convert one of my rooms into a studio space. I really wanted to utilize the natural light coming in the windows in my back room, but one thing has morphed into another, as these things usually do and I am learning how to use studio lights for the first time. It’s fun and frustrating at the same time. Of course, I like to find creative ways to do things and I am keeping it simple for now. After all, my first love is to shoot out in the light of the beautiful sun and the studio is a great alternative for those little wee ones that can’t go out in the cold and for anyone who wants to supplement their on location session with some slick white seamless studio shots.
I think the space will add a new dimension to what I can offer you. While keeping my style intact, I hope to offer a fun, creative environment for several different looks. I love to experiment with the light and props, so I’m really looking forward to getting started.
I’m just playing in there right now, and waiting for the rest of my lights. But I thought I would show you a little of what I’d like to do in there so you can be thinking about making an appointment for late January/February.
At that time, I will be accepting appointments for newborns, babies, and children. Small groups of children will most likely be good too. Any other ideas you might have can be decided on an individual basis.
If you’d like to be on a waiting list to be notified when I open the studio for business, shoot me an email. {gremlinwrangler@gmail.com}
Shhh! Don’t tell Christina, Dakota and Sierra’s dad about what you’re about to see! Christina wanted to get some shots of all her siblings for a Christmas gift, so we met up on a bitterly cold, windy December Saturday. These guys were such brave souls to come out, but with Christmas right around the corner, it was either get out there and get it done or else. I think we all knew the deal, so we endured the frozen toes and fingers and captured some fabulousness despite what Kansas threw at us this weekend.
However, Tundra the husky played and explored without one shiver. You gotta envy that beautiful fur coat!
Here’s a little peek.
Thanks, Christina for braving the cold for your session. I know we captured some beautiful stuff despite cutting it a little short. I hope you come out and play with me when the weather warms up! You all are gorgeous!
