Boudoir is quickly becoming one of my favorite types of photography to shoot and is producing some of my favorite images. Most of which I won’t post due to the client’s privacy. You’ve probably already read my other thoughts on the subject if you’ve been around this blog for long, so I won’t drone on and on about how important it is to show women how beautiful they already are.
I just want to encourage you ladies to consider gifting yourself with one of these sessions. I’ve had nothing but positive feedback and we have so much fun. Who doesn’t need that kind of confidence booster?
Hey groovy peeps! Guess what? My little ol’ business page on Facebook is about 50 people away from 700 fans! I basically started this business a couple years ago, with just a few clients and look how it’s grown! Let me tell you something else: I don’t advertise. Up till now, I haven’t paid a cent for advertising. It’s all because my clients are the most awesome, generous people on the face of this earth.
I’m just doing what I love to do; connecting with you and capturing those memories that you love to see.
So! To celebrate, I want to give away a free session. If you want in on that sweet deal, all you have to do is go to my Facebook page, find the share link on the bottom left (way under the profile pic), and share it on your personal page. After that, leave me a comment/email/whatever so I can get you on the list. Once I reach 700 fans, I choose a name randomly.
Here’s the skinny: this giveaway does apply to most sessions: families (more than 8 would be extra), newborns, kids, besties, boudoir, engagement, head shots, just about anything except weddings or sessions already booked.
I will ask that the session take place within 5 miles of downtown Ottawa unless you want to pay extra for travel. The giveaway covers the 1-2 hour session only. Prints are extra. You will receive 15 photos on a CD with the session per my usual portrait pricing.
And thanks again to everyone who is helping to make my business grow!
Warmer weather is here to stay, for the most part. Sure, we’ll have wind, rain and whatnot, but who the heck cares? I’ve been getting lots of inquiries for portrait sessions and just want to remind everyone that a $50 retainer holds your date. If the weather is uncooperative, we’ll reschedule, but I know those of you interested in family sessions will want the weekend dates and they will fill up quickly. Don’t wait till the last minute, cuz I’ll be sad that there aren’t any dates left.
I typically only book 3 sessions a week to ensure you get my undivided attention and creativity during the shoot and during editing.
Give me a shout out to book your session now, {gremlinwrangler@gmail.com} or call 785 214 9412 {but I will need your email to send the price sheet if you do decide to call}.
The Ottawa Volunteer Center of ECKAN has worked together for the last 4 years to put together this terrific event called the Prom Boutique. People donate their used or new prom dresses for girls to come pick one out for free. When Lisa Rivers approached me to come photograph the event so they would have some great images to market the event for next year, I’ll admit I was all over the idea. It’s no secret that I love fashion photography and while this wasn’t necessarily that, it did give me the opportunity to capture the spirit of a community giving back in a really fun way.
Not only were there dresses to be picked out and tried on, but vendors from the Ottawa community came out and donated door prizes and services for the morning. Hairdressers, makeup, food, tanning gift certificates, all kinds of fun stuff.
Here is a slideshow of some of my favorite images from the event. And remember, if you have prom dresses that you will never wear again, please take them to Eckan in Ottawa for next year’s event. I believe they will collect them all year long. Not everyone has the money to spend on a formal, but every girl should get the chance to look fabulous for that one special night.
Spring is definitely in the air and Kansas is teasing us with a warm day sprinkled in amongst the leftovers of winter. On one such warm day, we moved what was originally supposed to be a studio mini to the Sylvester’s home instead. After all, they’ve been farmers their whole lives and capturing them for their 50th anniversary on their land sounded spectacular.
I was just delighted to capture the love between these two. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting with them a couple of other times and just thought they are awesome. Here are some of my favorites.
