a very bunny spring mini {northeast kansas photographer}

I met yet another great family the other day for a spring studio mini. I love my job! I love that these people get what I’m about and trust me to create beautiful images for them to love. Louise and Clark brought their 2 youngest for a quick shoot and…wait for it…..at least 10 rabbits! There might’ve been more, I lost count. You all should know by now, I am usually game for whatever. It never hurts to try new things!

And really, I didn’t do much other than wait for the shot while Louise wrangled those bunnies into shape and her two girls waited all cute and stuff.

Here’s a peek at the cuteness that ensued!

Thanks for coming by the studio, Rein family! I look forward to getting to know you all more soon!

spring mini with the caylor’s! {northeast kansas portrait photographer}

I love the Caylor family. I’ve had the distinct pleasure of photographing them twice before with more on the horizon. I know I’m doing my job when people consider me their family photographer long term. It makes me feel just awesome because really people like Sara and Chad Caylor are awesome and I love being around them.

Here’s a little peek at the spring mini they brought the girls in for. Short, sweet and fun!

Just when I think senior photo season is over and I get sad, I get an inquiry from Ande’s mom, Jennie and let me tell you: this was a FUN shoot. Not only do they have a beautiful piece of land to photograph on, but Ande’s spirit is something I loved to capture. She is very artistic and unique, just so easy to photograph. Jennie came along, and she obviously shares a unique closeness with Ande and it made the evening all the more special to get to chat with such a cool mom and capture funky, cool images of such a beautiful girl, inside and out.

I wish you both the best and congrats to Ande for being almost done with high school!

So many favorites from this session…

wadkins family {northeast kansas photographer}

Sometimes the weather doesn’t cooperate. Especially here in Kansas. I sometimes wonder what those photographers out in California do with mostly dependable sunny skies? I do know that here, it challenges me and pushes me to be resourceful and capture these fabulous families regardless of imperfect conditions.

Bekah came to my studio a couple months ago with her little cutie JD and we had so much fun, we decided to continue the fun out at the berry farm for the rest of her family photos. The only hitch was the cold, grumpy morning. Cold and toddlers don’t always mix so well! And sometimes rescheduling is harder. So we went for it. I’ll be honest, I felt bad! I know I’m not in charge of the weather, but I invite my clients to an experience as much as getting beautiful images that they’ll love.

But we made the best of it. I did my job quickly and just in time before poor little JD had gotten his fill of the chilly morning. And when I saw the photos, I breathed a sigh of relief and joy that despite the weather, Bekah, Adam and JD’s specialness shone through the images. It’s what great families do!

Here’s a look at their session.

sisters {northeast kansas photographer}

I’ve worked with both of these lovely ladies on several occasions, and I not only love to photograph them, but I love being around their energy. It’s so refreshing to see sisters that are close. Audrey, of course is one of my favorite dancers to watch and Olivia is just this fantastic musician and all around unique individual.

Here are some cool shots from our little session the other day.

I had the great pleasure of meeting and photographing Todd and Jennifer’s super awesome family last week. What a great bunch of people to kick of the spring portrait season! I know I say this a lot, but the people that I get to work with are really the best. I don’t know how it works, this crossing of paths with people that get what I’m about and vice versa, but I am so thankful for it.

What makes the Stanley’s so great? So many things. So laid back, full of joy and all the beauty inside them just comes pouring out. Here are a few (read: way too many) of my favorites from their urban downtown session.
